Spring 2024 Styles
Entering the new year is a time of renewal, growth, and fresh opportunities for many of us. At Tanner’s Alley Leather Design Studio, it also means the anticipation of our new spring collections. Planning for our spring assortment begins months in advance to choose colors, styles, and leathers essential for creating our diverse range of bags for our varied customer base. This season, we invite you to join us in this journey, offering a glimpse behind the curtain at what our planning process looks like and the transformation of ideas into tangible goods.
Beginning in October, we look back at our year to revisit some of our most popular styles of Spring 2023. Pink took center stage as Barbie rocked the globe, and we saw a major interest in bright and rich shades from our customers. Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, we’ve seen many customers gain an interest in standing out and enjoying the bright and bold compared to the universal haze of dreariness life seemed to have during quarantine just a few short years ago. We’re happy to see that this playful trend is here to stay, letting us be more imaginative while in the design process.
Over the past year, exotics, embossed prints, and hair-on styles have garnered significant popularity, and we’re excited to expand this section in the upcoming year. These unique textures and patterns elevate our established styles, particularly complementing Western designs with fringe and lacing accents making a notable appearance in our upcoming pieces.
Ultimately, we found a variety of leathers and styles that both feel authentically Tanner’s Alley and simultaneously push us into the future for sophistication and fun in our bags. Using a combination of our existing leathers (look out for an article on how we minimize our wasted leather) and new hides, we have compiled a swatch book to keep in mind while we formalize our plans for the spring.
Looking at our style offering, we have felt a push for soft bags coming this season. The term “quiet luxury” has become incredibly popular in the past few months, meaning the canvas tote is receiving a leather upgrade for a chicer and more put-together version of the typical on-the-go bag. With the same idea in mind, we’ll also be grounding our bright and bold bags with rich brown leather for an everyday look and feel. If you’re a statement bag person, don’t worry, we will be crafting more of our striking creations in this new season using those joy-filled leathers and fun exotic pieces.
